Monoclonal antibody anti-human CD31 (Platelet GPIIa', PECAM1) (clone VM64, IgG2b kappa fraction)
Specificity
The monoclonal antibody is directed against the CD31 antigen, a 140 kD protein, which is expressed on human platelets and endothilial cells and is designated as PECAM-1 (platelet-endothelial cell adhesion molecule). The antibody reacts with platelets, monocytes/macrophages, granulocytes and B-cells. It stains the cell boundaries of endothelial cells with a staining pattern identical to that of silverstaining. Furthermore in histology it stains weakly histocytes and glomeruli
Preparation
Ammonium sulphate precipitation and DEAE-cellulose chromatography with gradient elution
Format
Purified and lyophilized. Contains azide and PBS. The azide concentration in reconstituted solution is 3 mM
Applications
Functional studies on cell-cell interactions. Studies on integrity of endothelial cell monolayers. The antibody can be used for immunoblotting under non reducing conditions. The antibody is useful for indirect immunofluorescence staining with analysis by cytofluorometry or fluorescence microscopy and for immunohistochemistry.
Reconstitution
Use 1 ml sterile pure water
Storage
Shipping at ambient temperature. Storage of lyophilized antibodies 2 years at -20°C or lower
