Artikelnummer: 576
Bovine collagen type III atelocollagen, sterile, for 3D gels and coatings (10 mg)
Pepsin-solubilised type III collagen from bovine placenta, the collagen that dominates in fetal, vascular and early-wound connective tissue. Supplied sterile, lyophilised and salt-free (10 mg) so it can go straight into a cell-culture workflow: dissolve in dilute acetic acid, neutralise and gel at 37°C for 3D culture, or coat plates and scaffolds to study cell behaviour on a type III-rich matrix. Pairs with bovine type I (cat. 437) for mixed I/III matrices.

Catalog Number 576
Amount 10 mg

Source
Bovine placenta

Purity
Bovine collagen type III > 90%. bovine collagen type I < 10%

Format
Lyophilized, salt-free

Purification
Collagen was extracted from washed dissected tissue into dilute acetic acid after mild pepsin treatment. Collagen type III was purified by using differential  salt  precipitation

Sterility
Passed sterility test for bacteria and fungi

Applications
Cell culture (coating or 3D gel)

Reconstitution
Dissolve in 20 mM acetic acid. Suspension should be shaken or stirred for several hours or overnight between 2-8°C. Material is dissolved when it appears homogeneous, with no schlieren pattern (light refraction due to differing protein concentrations in the suspension). Recommended concentration 1-5 mg/ml. After dissolution store 1 month at +4°C

Storage
Lyophilized protein: shipping at ambient temperature, long term storage (2 years) at -20°C or lower. Storage of reconstituted protein 1 month at +4°C
